You will develop strong understanding of the Software Architecture, oversee the software automation test strategy, provide technical leadership by enabling community of practice and with continuous improvement mindset.A Day in the LifeAs a Software Manager working in the Seaport District of Boston, MA, you will use your broad understanding of software engineering techniques for medical or other regulated systems. You will develop strong understanding of the software architecture, oversee the software automation test strategy, build the high-performing team, and provide technical leadership by enabling community of practice and with continuous improvement mindset.You will:Demonstrate organizational talent and technical aptitude/understanding of Surgical Robotics systems and applications.Demonstrate understanding of middleware software, different OS and communication protocols and test strategies associated for lean software development practices.Recruit and develop technical leaders and grow talent within in the team to support next generation platform.Understand SAFe practices and embrace the role of an effective team coach.Organize team resources to optimize the project planning, execution, and feedback loop for system a whole.Lead in forecasting, effort estimation, project trade-off discussion, resource planning, training, execution, and release activities working with technical leaders and project management.Present the aptitude for continuous improvement, identify, and implement industry standard software test technology, methods, and tools.Be well-versed in different SW development methodologies including Agile to enable breaking barriers across the organization.Exhibit familiarity with common programming languages such as C++ or modern programming languagesDisplay excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the drive to succeed in a matrix organization.Must Have: Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree requiredMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceNice to have:Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, preferably software related (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering) with a minimum of 10 years of software verification experience, or Master’s Degree plus 7 years related experience.Expert knowledge of Medical Product verification, IEC-62304 and FDA guidance.Ability to manage, track and upgrade multiple hardware and software configurations.Ability to work with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Software engineers when discovering, documenting, and resolving integration issues.Experience using a tool or repository for managing test cases (GIT Stash, JIRA, JAMA etc).Skills to collaborate with QA organization to ensure testing meets Quality and Regulatory needs.Thorough understanding of creating test protocols for verifying software requirements.Strong understanding of good documentation practices and experience with various off-the-shelf quality management systemsTechnical leadership in implementing automation framework, platform testing, automation scripts development and hardware software interface testingPhysical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position. PR) locations (USD):$150,400.00 - $225,600.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
