This position will also focus on creating and developing Public Cloud Solutions across all Business Units for PayPal, ensuring we can meet the needs of our internal customers efficiently. As a lead architect, you will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies in GCP, AWS and Azure. In addition to these you will be focusing heavily on cloud security technologies.Job Description:You will be influencing some of the key decisions on Public Cloud Engineering efforts, adoptions, best practices, efficiency programs in PayPal as we expand into Public Cloud. You will be instrumental in getting PayPal internal engineering teams to migrate and expand their workloads into Public Cloud in a seamless manner. Your way to impactYou will have the opportunity to provide great customer experience to hundreds of internal PayPal engineering teams, as they navigate the Public Cloud environment and try to use new Public Cloud technologies. Your Day to Day: Based on the Cloud use cases, design and architect appropriate Public Cloud solutions. Propose and implement solutions to make the PayPal’s Public Cloud environment optimal and efficient. Ensure the Public Cloud environment is configured with all the security controls to provide a safe and secure public cloud environment. Stays up to date on latest cloud computing technologies and trends. Be able to work well across internal engineering teams, internal customers and product managers in various geo-locations across the world Gets hands on and works on the Public Cloud customer enablement and integration with OnPrem systems. Be ready to learn new cloud technologies, test them and see how it can be used in PayPal for improving our solutions Be able to drive software solutions end to end, from design, implementation, testing to release phase. Perform and apply high quality software analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance for the PayPal core technology platform. What You Need to Bring: A successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience working in Public Cloud domain as a Cloud Architect. Working experience of Public Cloud technologies and tools which are required to build solutions in public cloud providers like GCP or AWS or Azure is preferred. Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions in all public cloud environments. Develop and enforce cloud architecture best practices to ensure reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency of the cloud environment. Hands on experience with programming languages like golang/python is requiredHands-on experience with service mesh tools such as Istio, Linkerd, or Consul in large scale deployments Eagerness to learn new technologies and partner with various teams giving PayPal Public Cloud users the best experience. A BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required.  **We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates.
