Designs and builds complex end-to-end systems, and performs full-stack development using --Golang, Node.JS, and Java. Builds Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and Non-Relational (MongoDB) databases. Provides technical guidance to all team members and mentoring junior team members. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in architecture design teams.
  • Defines and implements application level architecture.
  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
  • Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
  • Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.
  • Mentors junior team members.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and building complex end-to-end systems, and performing full-stack development using Golang, Node.JS, and Java.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and building complex end-to-end systems, and performing full-stack development using Golang, Node.JS, and Java.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and developing customer facing enterprise Web, batch processing, and event-driven applications, and Enterprise Services, using Java/J2EE, Node.js technologies (using Spring Boot, Type Script, and Go), Web Application Security (OPA, FIDO2, Envoy, and Spiffe), and RESTful/GRPC services within a financial industry.
  • DE designing, implementing, and developing enterprise financial applications based on SOLID principles, design patterns, and 12 factor methodology; developing Enterprise Services and Web applications based on Test and Behavior Driven Development (TDD and BDD); developing design artifacts -- sequence, timing, and ERD artifacts -- using UML, draw.io, and Smart Draw; and performing Web application development and debugging in Windows, MAC OS, Linux and Unix environments, using Eclipse, IntelliJ, and VSCode within a financial industry.
  • DE designing, developing, implementing, and testing (quality control) frameworks for Java/J2EE, JavaScript, Cloud based Web, and Batch Processing applications, and Node.js based Enterprise Services using Karate, Cucumber, Selenium, Jmeter, and Extent reporting (for smoke testing).
  • DE deploying and monitoring Enterprise Web based Services on Cloud environments to provide the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) of applications, using Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm, NPM, Maven (package management), Vault, and Artifactory (jFrog); performing version control using Git; performing issue tracking using Jira, Service Now, and Quality Center; performing log tracking using Datadog and Splunk; performing security vulnerability tracking using Sonar and Veracode; and providing continuous delivery according to Agile methodologies.
