The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Arizona and Banner University Medical Group is actively interviewing board certified/eligible Pediatric Neurosurgeons to join our growing clinical faculty and multidisciplinary team, including neurology, nursing, neuroradiology, emergency medicine, and rehabilitation services
This is a unique opportunity within a rapidly growing academic neuroscience inpatient and ambulatory elective program. Our 649-bed hospital is located at the University of Arizona Health Sciences in Tucson, Arizona. Banner – University Medical Center Tucson has been nationally recognized for providing exceptional patient care, teaching new health care professionals, and conducting groundbreaking research through the physician-scientists of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. The medical center is currently certified as a Primary and Comprehensive Stroke Center and designated as the only Level 1 trauma center in the Southern Arizona region.
Position Highlights:
The selected individual takes pride in providing top-notch clinical care to pediatric patients while employing the most advanced surgical tools, from intra-operative, frameless image-guided to minimally invasive spinal or skull base equipment. Surgical services are provided at the Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, and clinical services at the outpatient medical clinical site located a few minutes from the center. With our thriving neurosurgery training program, an enthusiastic commitment to teaching is desired. Protected research time may also be available depending on the candidate’s background, training, and interests. The successful candidate will have a full appointment within the Department of Neurosurgery. The position will include teaching and academic activities as well as opportunities to participate in clinical research.
Work-Life Balance: Mon-Fri | Monthly Rotating Call w/excess | Productivity | No Weekend (possibly call)
Minimum Requirements:
- Pediatric Neurosurgery training/experience is required, qualified candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible
- Experience with trauma, desirable
- Skill in teaching residents and openness to research opportunities are a plus
