Job DescriptionUnder the general supervision of the Practice Manager and Clinical Supervisor, the Dental Assistant is responsible to provide quality care and excellent customer service. This includes performing 4-handed chair side assistance, preparing & maintaining dental instruments and instrument transfers, and taking appropriate diagnostic quality digital x-rays.Chairside/Clinical:To provide dental assisting within the Periodontology department and Implantology suiteAssist with various Periodontal procedures including implants, sinus lifts and bone graftsPrepare the operatories for proceduresOrganize and coordinate patients information and dental radiographsProvide patients with post surgical instructions and educationTake intra & extra oral photographsSupport residents and faculty with charting and record-keeping via computerized systemResponsible for ordering products and supplies as well as keeping accurate inventoryClean, sterilize, and set up treatment operatories in a timely mannerMay require assisting in the IV Sedation Program at Main campusMay require working evening sessionRequired SkillsHigh School Diploma/GED and 1-3 years of work experience requiredMust have Massachusetts Dental Assistant LicensureCPR and Radiology Certification requiredPlease note all newly hired staff and faculty will need to be in compliance with Boston University's COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster Requirement within 30 days of date of hire.
