Preschool Lead Toddler Teacher (T1 and T2)

The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for toddlers aged 1-2 years. This role involves designing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children. The Lead Toddler Teacher will also provide leadership and guidance to assistant teachers and support staff, ensuring that all children receive high-quality care and education.
Requirements
Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth for toddlers.
- Plan and lead engaging activities that support early learning goals, including language development, motor skills, and sensory exploration.
- Create lesson plans that are flexible and responsive to the individual needs and interests of each child
- Establish a safe and nurturing environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Monitor and manage the classroom environment to ensure it is clean, organized, and conducive to toddler development.
- Ensure adherence to all safety and health protocols, including proper hygiene practices and safe sleep guidelines.
- Observe and document each child's progress, noting developmental milestones and any areas of concern.
- Use observations to adjust teaching methods and activities to better support individual learning and development.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child's progress, including daily updates and periodic conferences.
- Provide guidance and support to assistant teachers and classroom aides, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment across the program.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, professional development sessions, and ongoing training.
- Share resources and strategies with parents to support their child's development at home.
- Organize and participate in family events and parent-teacher conferences.
- Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians, encouraging their involvement in their child's early learning.
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements and program policies.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and developmental assessments.
- Prepare reports as required by the Program Director or Site Supervisor.
- Stay current with early childhood education best practices and developments through ongoing professional development.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions as required.
- Starting Pay $20-24/hour
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare setting, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Certifications: BFTS Lead teacher qualifications required (CDA is the minimum)
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of child development principles for toddlers aged 1-2 years.
