Administrative Assistant II to the Director of Curriculum & Instruction

Position Description : To provide technology, grant, and policy assistance in the effective operation of the Office of the Curriculum & Instruction; assist in the development of and monitor the professional development budget as well as all state and federal grant budgets, maintain records of evaluation through online software. assist in creating district wide templates in PowerSchool, develop and maintain data and budget programming, and maintain district policies.
Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or more. 2. Five years of increasingly responsible office experience. 3. Ability to use computer software for word processing, spreadsheets and other assorted applications as necessary including educational software and web based applications. 4. Must be highly organized and prioritize well when working under pressure and with deadlines and to take initiative 5. Ability to relate in a positive and confidential manner to staff members and the general public.
Responsibilities: 1. Knowledge of and ability to utilize programs for maintaining all certified records and evaluations as well as monitoring and maintaining professional development workshops. 2. Create templates in PowerSchool utilizing html coding to be used district wide. 3. Knowledge of and ability to use word processing applications (i.e. MSOffice applications, Google). 4. Create and maintain database and budget for Summer Enrichment Program including managing class size, determining classes, and student class lists. 5. Assist in research of curriculum programs and provide feedback. 6. Prepare and process contracts and agreements for all professional development activities. 7. Assist in the preparation for interviews. 8. Assist in the preparation and submission of all data, forms, pertaining to state and federal grants. 9. Create and maintain state and federal grant reports through online application systems. 10. Assist in the development and monitoring of the professional development budget preparation and submission of all data, forms, and reports. 11. Maintain records and invoices of professional development, testing expenditures. 12. Verification of all student records for the district testing program. 13. Maintain an inventory and district files for district and state assessments. 14. Provide support in collecting data. 15. Maintain a high level of confidentiality in and out of the office. 16. Maintain up-to-date inventory and collection of curriculum guides and related documents, proposals, summer work, and funding. 17. Administrator for local and state assessment databases. 18. Attend and prepare monthly Board of Education meetings; process minutes and maintain all readings, documents related to the Board of Education and the Town of Cromwell. 19. Update and maintain curriculum and instruction webpage(s). 20. Handle bus transportation for the district (regular education, field trips), and upload student information, publish in local papers and websites, and distribute incident reports. 21. Provide support for initiative in Curriculum & Instruction Department. 22. Collect all end of the year districtwide final evaluations for non-certified staff. 23. Perform established office procedures effectively, efficiently, accurately, and prioritize work. 24. Process written and oral instructions effectively. 25. Plan and organize work according to established office procedures. 26. Develop and maintain confidential records and files. 27. Compose, transcribe and process memos, letters, reports, and other documents as directed. 28. Schedule and arrange meetings and appointments. 29. Revise and maintain district policies 30. Maintain calendar for Director of Curriculum & Instruction 31. Perform other duties as assigned. Salary/Benefits:
Salary starting at $27.82 per hour. This position is a 12 month position - 7.5 hours per day (minimum of 1821 hours per year). Entitled to all the benefits in the
UPSEU contract
such as sick time, personal time, vacation time, holidays. Position is eligible for a pension.
