Summary: Provides support to multiple departmental areas of the organization including but not limited to Claims, Customer Service and Sales & Marketing. Opens, sorts & reprices claims, responds to customer inquiries and supports the marketing department by preparing disruption and geo results for prospects and existing customers.
Formal Education Required: a. High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience & Training Required: a. Experience in health care, especially with medical claims preferred b. Call center and/or receptionist experience preferable c. Minimum typing of 30 wpm. d. Knowledge of medical terminology e. Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: a. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. b. Understanding of Microsoft Office c. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, flexible team environment. d. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. e. Ability to both take directions from a supervisor/lead as well as work autonomously. f. Ability and desire to learn new skills as necessary g. Strong multi-task capabilities
Level of Physical Demands: a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
