Position Overview:

This position will have a focus on NICU and Labor and Delivery (L&D). Performs therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures and provides assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

EDUCATION

Other: Graduate of Respiratory Care Program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

CA Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred

Neonatal Resuscitation Provider NRP

Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Therapy as a Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) required within 180 days of hire

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

* Experience with intubation of infants strongly preferred.

* Acute care clinical experience in Respiratory Care, training in arterial puncture and blood gas analysis.

* Preferred 2 years of NICU experience is desired.

* Previous experience in performing EKG is desired.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, chemistry, and physics.

Knowledge of bedside pulmonary function testing; mechanics and equipment.

Knowledge of arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, equipment and quality control.

Demonstrated familiarity with the Joint Commision on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards and College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation standards.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.

Must be able to understand, read and write the English language.

Pay Range is $52.12 to $63.55 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
