Overview
The Senior Compliance Officer will perform duties of technical and supervisory nature requiring skill, knowledge, and abilities related to code interpretation and enforcement. They will monitor procedures employed by Code Compliance Officer I and II. Job functions will include investigating, developing, training, and growing.
Responsibilities • Investigates property maintenance violations applicable to City codes, ordinances, and laws • Documents property issues via photographic and written documentation • Contacts citizens regarding ongoing investigations to assist in abatement efforts or issuance of citation • Removes signs from utility poles and right-of-ways and works to communicate sign ordinance with offenders • Coordinates with citizens and other departments to resolve violations prior to citation • Provides information to citizens regarding abatement assistance • Documents all investigations in applicable software (Infor or GovQA) to generate narratives for each case as needed • Conducts compliance follow-ups on active cases and conducts property visits to ensure compliance with property maintenance codes • Conducts public outreach regarding applicable laws with an emphasis on property maintenance codes • Proactively pursues work without permit operations • Conducts frequent contractor license checks • Serves as field lead and subject matter expert for other Code Compliance Officer I' and II's • Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work • Non-Exempt - Full-Time • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement • In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Minimum Qualifications • Associate's Degree or 2-year technical certificate • Two (2) years of experience
Licenses and Certifications
Required • Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations Certified Code Compliance Officer required at time of hire • C.E.A.T. Certified Code Compliance Officer required within six (6) months of hire • ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector required within six (6) months of hire • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below: • Criminal Background Check: Yes • Motor Vehicle Record Check: Yes • Drug Screening: Yes • Physical Exam: Yes
Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
