Position Overview:

The Senior Buyer of Engineered Products will provide sourcing, commodity, and supply base management expertise to ensure that all aspects of the procurement process meet Teledyne's quality, surety of supply and cost to meet corporate procurement requirements. This position will lead efforts to develop strategies that focus on reducing cost, minimizing risk, increasing cash, and eliminating waste at a project and commodity level. The Senior Buyer of Engineered Products must possess deep commodity-based supply chain knowledge across multiple categories and will be required to work closely with external suppliers to foster partnerships. The position will frequently liaise with New Product Development and other cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions, cost reduction strategies and product/process improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, facilitate and manage commodity projects focused on strategic initiatives, cost reduction and process improvement Identify and recommend suppliers by investigating potential sources, researching parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials availability Evaluate bids for standard and non-standard items to ensure successful supply chain execution Conduct supplier site visits and evaluate for production capability, performance, delivery, and other key business criteria Monitor and assess supplier performance, advising appropriate personnel of impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements Utilize project management skills to integrate and perform on in multiple cross-functional teams Prepare moderately complex reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends Maintain and monitor inventory levels within scope of procurement responsibilities Introduce new concepts and programs to reduce gross inventory dollars Analyze and process MRP requirements Process and execute purchase orders in accordance with company policy and spend/approval matrix Ensure procurement specifications, drawings, and supplemental info is properly transmitted to suppliers Perform system maintenance within scope of responsibilities Resolve invoice discrepancies as required Monitor Master Supply and Non-Disclosure agreements for modification and/or renewal Possess a high degree of comprehension of multiple procurement categories or commodities Assist with training and mentoring of Buyers and other Procurement Department support staff Other duties as assigned by Procurement Supervisor, Manager of Procurement, or VP of Supply Chain. Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred Five (5) years procurement experience CPIM or CPSM certification preferre Procurement experience in manufacturing, preferably in an engineered to order environment Experience in the development and negotiation of strategic supplier agreement contracts Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work with changing demands in a fast paced environment Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization Knowledge of MS Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and ERP Software Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks Necessary to be a team player with the ability to work effectively with other departments on special projects as assigned
