The Vice President, Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer (CDO) will serve as a strategic leader and advisor in promoting a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging at Pinterest. This role will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and driving initiatives that support the company's DEIB goals and objectives. The CDO will work collaboratively with senior leadership, human resources, the Board of Directors and other stakeholders to embed DEIB into the core business strategy and day-to-day operations. What You'll Do: Leadership and Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive DEIB strategy aligned with Pinterest’s mission, forward human capital objectives and enable business objectives. Serve as a key advisor to the Chief People Officer, executive team and Board on DEIB matters, providing expert guidance and thought leadership. Establish and chair a DEI council to drive company-wide engagement and accountability for DEI initiatives. Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~10 DEIB practitioners. Program Development and Implementation: Design and implement effective DEIB programs, policies, and practices that foster a diverse and inclusive workplace, while also prioritizing fairness and sense of belonging. Partner with HR, Executive Team, business leaders and other departments to integrate DEIB principles into talent acquisition, retention, performance management, and employee development processes. Lead the development of internal and external DEIB communications to promote awareness and understanding. Measurement and Analysis: Data driven - Establish metrics, relevant benchmarks and evaluates progress using data at all levels of the organization; Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and track progress against DEIB goals. Prepare and present reports on DEIB initiatives to senior leadership and stakeholders and the Board of Directors. Cultural Transformation: Champion a culture of inclusion where diverse perspectives are valued and contribute to the company's success. Implement training and development programs to enhance cultural competence and address unconscious bias among employees and leadership. Advocate for and support employee resource groups (Pinclusion Groups) and other initiatives that promote workplace inclusivity and create community. Community and Partnerships: Build relationships with external organizations, community groups, and industry partners to enhance Pinterest’s reputation as a leader in diversity and inclusion. Represent Pinterest at conferences and events to promote the company’s commitment to DEIB. Budget and Fiscal Management: Develop and oversee the budget for DEIB initiatives, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives. Monitor and report on financial performance, making data-driven decisions to enhance the efficiency and impact of programs. Collaborate with the finance department to integrate DEIB financial planning into the overall corporate budget, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and fiscal health. What We're Looking For: Proven experience (10+ years) in diversity, equity, and inclusion leadership roles, preferably at the executive level. Demonstrated people leadership capability with a track-record of success in coaching and developing talent. Strong understanding of DEIB principles, practices, and their application in a corporate environment. Demonstrated ability to create and implement DEI strategies, influence and drive change at all levels of an organization. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience working in a global or multi-cultural environment is preferred. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, depending on required and relevant in-person engagements. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus. Relocation Statement: This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. In-Office Requirement Statement: We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection. This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration up 1-2 times/month.
