Job Description:
Salt Lake City is excited to find an Apprentice to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll be involved in researching, drafting, and updating policies, ordinances, and regulations aligned with the city's goals to enhance municipal operations and services.
Salt Lake City seeks motivated, enthusiastic Apprentices to join our team. As an Apprentice, you will engage in hands-on training, attend classes and workshops, follow health and safety guidelines, and complete assigned tasks and evaluations. Ideal candidates are organized, flexible, and ready to contribute wherever needed. Success in this role requires effective time management and a willingness to collaborate with the existing team. Exceptional Apprentices embrace learning, respond well to constructive feedback, build strong relationships with colleagues, and support public initiatives.
APPRENTICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop specialized skills under the guidance of experienced mentors.
Actively attend workshops and take part in various learning opportunities.
Provide support within your assigned department while learning about other city functions.
Follow health and safety protocols.
Complete all required tests, presentations, and evaluations.
Receive feedback positively and seek continuous improvement.
Maintain organized notes of training and new skills.
Build professional relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and the community.
Research, draft, and refine policies and procedures to meet local governance standards.
Conduct thorough research on legal frameworks, best practices, and community needs to support policy development.
Ensure all policies align with local and state regulations.
Draft clear, well-organized policy documents that are easy to understand.
APPRENTICE REQUIREMENTS:
Strong time management, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
A growth-oriented mindset and passion for learning.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
A valid driver's license may be required.
