Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal Cyber Systems Engineer Sr Principal Cyber Systems Engineer – 5687-2. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama or Colorado Springs, Colorado and will support the Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do:
• Designing and Implementing Cybersecurity Software solutions for weapon systems.
• Administering systems based on Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Automating system deployment, operation and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management (CM) tooling.
• Work with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology.
• Automate cloud native technologies in air-gapped environments, deploy applications, and provision critical infrastructure.
• Design and implement security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption.
• Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and training to other team members and stakeholders.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: 05 Years with Bachelor’s in relevant field of study, 03 Years with Masters, 01 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: 08 Years with Bachelor’s in relevant field of study, 06 Years with Masters, 04 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 06 years.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g, Security+, etc.)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related field.
Experience engineering ACAS, NESSUS, SPLUNK, McAfee / Trellix, VMWare, or MECM.
Experience designing and implementing SIEM/SOAR tools such as Splunk, Elastic, CrowdStrike, CarbonBlack, or Swimlane.
Experience with network design, virtual environments, and cyber systems design is preferred.
Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) Tools such as: Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Packer, GitLab, etc. (air-gapped implementations).
Current DoD 8570 IASAE II Certification (e.g, CISSP, etc.).

Salary Range: $107,300 - $169,000
Salary Range 2: $133,000 - $209,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
