BOSMA ENTERPRISES JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title:
Senior Staff Accountant Status:
Exempt Reports To:
Controller Overall Responsibility: The Senior Staff Accountant is primarily responsible to account for assigned portions of the general ledger for Bosma Enterprises. Job Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions of the Senior Staff Accountant's position consist primarily of, but are not limited to the following: Reconcile inventory general ledger and maintain accurate detailed records, including variance analysis between the general ledger and warehouse system, including working with Bosma team members to eliminate the variances going-forward. Maintain the item master that entails pricing, item creation and other as-needed tasks. Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts daily and monthly, including preparing month end journal entries ensuring accuracy to the financial statements. Prepare monthly and quarterly external labor reports. Prepare sales tax liability reporting based on applicable due dates. Obtain and maintain sales tax exemption records in conjunction with the Customer Service Department. Reconcile and prepare necessary journal entries related to payroll activities. Preparation of annual budget, including preparation of schedules and analyses, for assigned areas. Provide reporting and support accounting management. Research issues and provide recommended resolution. Assist in the annual audit(s). Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree, with a major or concentration in Accounting, and at least three years' experience is required. CPA and experience in a non-profit environment are ideal, but not required.
Required Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and concepts Basic knowledge of tax concepts and principles Ability to acquire a proficiency in Bosma's current software program of Salesforce Detail oriented and keep accurate records Ability to prepare documentation of processes and procedures Be organized; prepare reports and analyses accurately and in a timely fashion Communicate effectively and professionally Ability to research questions of accounting or tax treatment using appropriate tools or resources Self-starter and work independently with minimal supervision and capable of multi-tasking Ability to prioritize tasks
