The Role: Product Marketing Engineer
This role's aim is to maximize point-of-use abatement product opportunities and deliver high returns to Edwards in monetary and strategic terms. This position supports new and after-market sales products through technical and application know how for North America.
Works with resources from across Edwards (functionally and geographically) to deliver required business outcomes, via contribution to:
The regional product management of semiconductor (and related industries) abatement products. The development of specific marketing plans and activities for abatement products to establish, enhance, or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Contribute to business plans and product positioning in the marketplace.
Conducts market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs (incl. performance, CoO, and form factor). Works within multi-disciplined teams including applications engineering, manufacturing (Product Company), Regional and Division product management, and sales to develop new products, enhance existing products and promote existing products for sale. Main Responsibilities: Identify new product opportunities, as well as product improvement and upgrade solutions, to meet customer cost of ownership (CoO) reduction targets, customer and local environmental regulations, and process uptime improvements. Work with resources from across Edwards (functionally and geographically) to deliver required business outcomes. Provide training for colleagues to articulate and deliver product value propositions to customers in a compelling manner consistent with a solution value based sales strategy. Prepare presentation materials and present the company's products and solutions to customers of all levels succinctly and with clarity. Contribute to the product ongoing development within the organization to ensure adequate attention is given to both internal and external opportunities and threats. Work with colleagues to make sound evaluations of the market, competitors, customers and technologies in support of Sector Managers and Key Account Teams. Provide consulting and technical support for product related questions from colleagues. Recommend abatement equipment required for existing and new applications. Support new applications, startup assistance, and qualifications at customer sites. Continue to develop application knowledge of Edwards products and interaction with OEM tool sets. Support regional marketing activities. Assist account teams with PN identificaiton and customer quotations. Become the region product expert. Strong chemical and mechanical background desirable. Relevant Previous experience 3-5 years experience in the semiconductor industry is highly desirable.
