PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH RELIAS IS REQUIRED TO BE SENT ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE. Job Details A hospital near Sacramento is looking for an experienced Neuro MedSurg/Tele for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience. Job Requirements The right candidate will have 2 years of experience. Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and a CA License. Schedule Information 12 hr shifts. Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available. Unit Specific Information Unit MST Neuroscience Unit (5T) Number of beds: 30 Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief. Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Holidays: Rotate in with core staff. Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Telemetry: No, but must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Ventilators: No. IV Team: No. RT available 24/7: Yes. Pharmacy available 24/7: Yes. Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen. Could also float to tele and MedSurg floors. Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor. Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CVA, neurosurgical, neuro medical, and MST overflow patients. Additional Details Modules are required to be done before start of assignment. Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital. For Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling. Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed.
