Job Description

BAE Systems’ Electronic Systems sector is seeking an Employee Relations Leader for our Endicott, New York site. This campus supports over 1,400 non-unionized employees and includes manufacturing, engineering, program management and functional resources. This individual contributor role will be responsible for driving proactive, positive employee relations for the site, while coaching leaders to success and managing employee relations issues.

The position reports to the Senior Manager - Employee Relations and will be based on-site in Endicott. Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite in Endicott, NY and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Primary Responsibilities: Build and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees to provide advice and counsel on employee-related and organizational matters, serving as an employee advocate and as a coach to employees and leaders. Leverage data and insights to assess site climate and implement short- and long-term HR initiatives, in partnership with HR Business Partners and local leadership, to mitigate risks and improve business performance. Manage performance improvement plans, grievances, claims, investigations and terminations, in partnership with HR Business Partners, Legal, Ethics, Security and other key stakeholders. Coach leaders on performance management, inclusion, change management and other actions to improve organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. Collaborate with the broader HR network (i.e. HR Business Partners, Talent Management, DEI, HR Analytics) to develop and deploy strategies that address site needs. Leverage process improvement/lean manufacturing tools and methodology to align with business needs; seek new innovative ways to automate and streamline HR processes. Lead and support special projects as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6+ years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required Must have strong experience in complex investigations, organizational diagnostic skills and developing creative solutions to work environment challenges Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws Must have experience in coaching and developing leaders Must have the ability to build relationships and influence Must be willing to travel up to 10%

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

This position will be located in Endicott, New York; candidate must be local to the site or be willing to relocate SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP or PHR / SPHR certifications Experience working in matrixed organization Experience in project management and continuous improvement

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $102800 - $174800

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
