The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $24.59 to $28.56/hour. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $24.59 to $34.85/hour.

Learn more about the benefits of working at UC Brief Summary of Job Duties: The SciTrek Admin Assistant works with SciTrek manager and assists with the administrative aspects of the SciTrek program. This includes but is not limited to: helping with volunteer recruitment, events and engagements, assisting with SciTrek volunteer and staff communications, and volunteer scheduling. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Strong word processing skills, experience with Excel spreadsheets and data entry. Strong organization skills and attention to details. Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to establishing cooperative working relationships. Preferred Qualifications: 1-3 years of work experience in an educational environment. 1-3 years of customer service experience. Ability to multitask and prioritize, often having to meet competing deadlines. Ability to solve problems and demonstrate sound reasoning and judgement. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when needed. Ability to work independently as well as part of a group. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Special Conditions of Employment: Maintain a valid CA driver's license, a clean DMV record and enrollment in the DMV Employer Pull-Notice Program Satisfactory conviction history background check Position is funded by federal contract/sub-contract and requires E-Verify check. Position funding is dependent on continuation of SciTrek Program funding. This is a Limited appointment working less than 1000 hours in 12 consecutive months. UCSB is a Tobacco-Free environment Job Functions and Percentages of Time: 50% Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement - Under the supervision of the SciTrek Manager, reaches out to undergraduate students from diverse fields and backgrounds, promoting the SciTrek program and encouraging their participation. Assists in creating and implementing strategies and programs to attract a varied volunteer base that reflects the diversity of the student body. 25% Administrative Support - Collaborates with SciTrek Manager and faculty on administrative tasks. Supports SciTrek Manager in running SciTrek program operations as needed. 25% Communication - Assists in routine communications and coordinating the schedule of volunteers for educational programs, with a focus on building relationships with underrepresented groups.
