REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager

SALARY: $60,000 - $75,000 Annually

The Los Angeles Equestrian Center (LAEC) is a one-of-a-kind, 75-acre property nestled in the heart of Griffith Park, dedicated to the love of horses and the equestrian community. LAEC offers a welcoming space for equine enthusiasts and professionals alike, providing boarding facilities, training arenas, and a calendar of events that range from local competitions to prestigious equestrian showcases. In addition to serving as a hub for horse-related activities, LAEC is also home to various special events, blending the charm of nature with the energy of LA's cultural scene.
Summary
Performs the daily activities of the accounting function at the facility and as the Accounting Manager or Finance Director by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists Accounting Manager in preparation of financial statements.
Reconciles A/R and A/P control accounts to detail aging.
Reconciles cash receipts and disbursements.
Performs monthly closing of sub ledgers.
Inputs journal entries.
Assists A/R and A/P clerks with coding of receipts and disbursements into the general ledger.
Performs account analysis on other general ledger accounts.
Performs any other functions delegated by Accounting Manager.
Maintains and audits box office ticket sales reports.
Maintains and audits parking sales.
Maintains telephone deposits for events.
Perform event reconciliations and prepare event flash reports and P&L reports in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has minimal supervisory responsibilities other than assisting junior staff accountants, if applicable, or other more recently hired staff accountants. Provides assistance to accounting clerks within the department.

Education and/or Experience
B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
Some part-time or summer internship experience in a position with accounting responsibilities preferred
Or similar combination of education and experience
Preferred Skills:
Dynamics 365 Finance Experience
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting
Excellent math skills and attention to details
Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required
Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management and clients
Detail oriented
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software and be willing to learn and use accounting and financial reporting software.
