Job Opportunity: Accounting Technician Location: Andrews AFB, MD Teksouth is seeking a dedicated Accounting Technician to join our team and support financial operations for our client at Andrews AFB. This role focuses on financial analysis and Air Force accounting tasks, including funds control, vendor pay, financial reviews, reporting, and quality assurance within both standard and local systems. Key Responsibilities Collaborate on funds control, vendor pay, and act as a liaison with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). Perform financial reviews and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance. Support various Air Force accounting activities and processing centers. Participate in formal fund reviews such as: Tri-Annual Reviews Commitment Reviews Accounts Receivable Reviews Travel Tri-Annual Reviews Miscellaneous Obligation Reimbursement Documents (MORD) reviews Provide resource managers (RMs) with automated tools and listings to validate commitments, unliquidated obligations, and receivables. Facilitate and ensure the accuracy of fund records and balances. Assist in the review process by identifying and resolving delays in recording commitments or obligations. Match disbursements to obligations and pinpoint inaccuracies in fund balances. Process adjustments or corrections based on justification and documentation from RMs. Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Qualifications At least 6 months of Air Force finance experience or 1 year of accounting experience OR a BS/BA degree in Accounting. Proficiency in accounting/financial systems such as: General Accounting and Finance System/Base Query (GAFS/BQ) Integrated Accounts Payable System (IAPS) Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) FM Suite Automated Business Services System (ABSS) Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and self-motivation. Detail-oriented with a professional attitude and reliability. Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to interact professionally with employees and vendors. Competence in performing mathematical calculations with accuracy and efficiency. Why Join Teksouth?
