Position: IT Manager (Applications) Location: Philadelphia, PA Job Id: 284 of Openings: 1 POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for leading and managing the IT applications department, ensuring the effective operation of all IT applications and services, and implementing technology solutions that improve business efficiency and productivity. The role involves strategic planning, project management, and overseeing the maintenance and support of applications, including computer software installation, enhancement, updates, maintenance and support for all users on company applications hosted both locally and as-a-service. Directs IT application operations to meet employee requirements, as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and the development of new technical solutions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Management: Lead and manage the IT application team and vendors, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management. Develop and implement IT application policies and procedures to ensure effective and secure operations. Directs and prioritizes workloads and subordinate personnel. Strategic Planning: Determines the goals of IT applications within broad outlines provided by the executive management and contributes to the continuity of computer services by providing necessary technical leadership and project coordination. Collaborate with senior management to align software strategies with business goals. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to improve business processes and support growth. Investigates potential new software applications; installs and supports existing software applications, apprises supervisor about upgrades and or new products that would enhance the company's efficiency and effectiveness. Prepares long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development and acquisition of the resources needed to support them. Project Management: Plan, execute, and manage IT projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope. Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and manage project expectations. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software. Ensure the security and integrity of the company's IT infrastructure. Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions Budgeting & Cost Management: Develop and manage the IT budget for application needs, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation. Monitor and control IT expenditures and ensure compliance with financial policies. Support & Maintenance: Ensure the provision of high-quality technical support and resolve software issues promptly. Maintain up-to-date documentation of software systems and processes. Vendor Management: Participates in all hardware and software evaluations. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure optimal value and performance. Develop and maintain a working relationship with consulting agencies. EDUCATION: Required: B achelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP). EXPERIENCE: 8 -10 years' experience within the Information software and applications field. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of all Information systems. Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting regi nal infrastructure. Performs liaison duties between users and system in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting of local area network and interconnectivity. Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities Responsible for overall Integrity of computer systems and network. Performs software implementations, migrations, upgrades and repairs to the software environment and ecosystem of applications. . PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required. This position may require working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. May require walking and standing on irregular, uneven surfaces in an industrial setting and possibly at increased heights climbing and descending ladders and ship stairways.
