JOB Senior Communications Manager of Digital Communications creates and/or manages all website content for the agency and is responsible for planning, designing, and executing social media marketing campaigns based on strategies and initiatives defined by BREC. The incumbent in this position plays a vital role in relaying timely information to the employees and general public about the various events, programs, and social activities offered throughout the year. This creative professional position works collaboratively with all departments to ensure website content is up-to-date, accurate and ongoing. Individual must have a comprehensive technical knowledge of website design and social media with extensive experience and training in web content management. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Education Required: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Preferred: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Area of Study (major) Required: Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Communications, Digital Media, Mass Communications, or any closely related field. Preferred: Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Communications, Digital Media, or any closely related field. Certification(s) Required: N/A License(s) Required: Valid Louisiana Driver’s License Years Relevant Work Experience: Four (4) or more years related technical experience as a webmaster or in web design, web content management or internet marketing, including management of social media platforms. Preferred: Six (6) years or more related experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Comprehensive technical knowledge of website design and social media Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube Extensive experience with content management systems Experience updating and creating websites using HTML and WordPress (understanding JavaScript, CSS, and PHP a plus) Strong computer skills & software applications; experience in MS Office Suite, including Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and website maintenance Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to work on multiple projects to meet both short and long-range deadlines Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to plan and direct the work of others Ability to demonstrate leadership, initiative, and problem-solving abilities Ability to edit and optimize images Attention to detail, especially dates, times & locations, and multi-tasking Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional departments Ability to exercise good judgment based on established policies & procedures Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental staff, vendors, and to relate well to representatives of public and private interest groups, the news media, the public, and officials of other agencies SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Days/Hours Worked: Full-time position, a minimum of 40 hours per week, lunch break daily.
