Position Summary

Supports the Business Innovation team in areas related to innovative technology and strategic planning. Day-to-day process management (including company-wide contributors and stakeholders) of the emerging technology assessment and intake-to-action processes. Drives internal communication, including executive leadership briefings, related to technology categories and individual emerging technologies.

This position can be filled at a Sr level or lower. Candidates will be aligned based on their specific qualifications.

Essential Responsibilities

Competitive Intelligence: Support Business Innovation functions in developing insights about key industry trends (technology, competitors, consumers, regulatory, etc.) and inform the organization of their strategic implications. Be a subject matter advisor for multiple emerging technology categories. Represent business innovation on internal teams of related activities and studies that support new business opportunities, especially those where our "clean" generation can help the decarbonization of commercial and industrial processes. Represent business innovation externally with tech companies, industry groups and other related parties. Research/Analysis: Leads multiple tracks emerging technology research to evaluate innovative technologies and technology markets to support analysis of potential technology fit for the Company. Engage with leaders and operating teams at emerging technology companies. Responds to requests for research and analysis by leveraging data and information to independently create requested reports and briefings. Manages to the established reporting deadlines. Communication: Prepares effective strategic communications for both executive leadership and technical resources around innovative technology activities. Determines which communication strategy or method will most successfully communicate different types of information based on corporate guidelines and geared to the intended audience. Partners with the team and business area leaders to ensure successful communication strategy implementation. Project/Process Support: Project manage Emerging Technology (CF2050) technology intake/evaluation process - including publishing and maintenance of Technology Book and prioritizations. Tracking of and reporting of project deliverables, and documentation to support key assessment of emerging technologies. Provides technical expertise and analytical guidance. May participate on cross-functional teams or projects for business area or companywide initiatives. Collaboration: Coordinate and manage networks of SMEs and third-party entities to support emerging technology evaluation, prioritization, updates and project development. Critical Thinking: Thought leader for innovation and emerging technologies. Responsible for learning, designing, developing, executing, presenting, and knowledge transfer for technologies and projects suitable for both technical and executive audiences. Forward thinking. Ability to work within ambiguous and uncertain conditions.

Minimum Requirements

Sr. Innovation Tech Consultant ($92,300-$130,567)

Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field. 8+ years related experience. Previous experience in a related role is required. Has knowledge of existing and relevant energy/utility business and operations technologies. Understanding of resource planning and modelling processes. Strong in problem-solving and delivering to plan. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively use a variety of communication methods to both executive and technical resources. Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills; capable of working with teams. Strong technical background in Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint.

Innovation Tech Consultant ($69,700-$99,100)

Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field. 5-7 years related experience. Previous experience in a related role is preferred. Has basic knowledge of existing and relevant energy/utility business and operations technologies. Strong in problem-solving and delivering to plan. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively use a variety of communication methods. Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills; capable of working with teams. Strong technical background in Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint.

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $69,700.00 to $130,567.00 per year
