Senior Engineer, Renewables Location:

San Francisco, CA (100% teleworking permitted from anywhere in the US and 20% travel required for project site visits related to testing, meetings, trainings, and conferences) Employer:

AES Clean Energy Services, LLC RESPONSIBILITIES: Distill high-level stakeholder requirements and collaborative vendor discussions into detailed engineering specifications. Develop 3D and 2D models and engineering drawings of hardware. Design conceptual physical layouts of hardware for utility scale solar and storage technologies. Identify cost-saving and performance-enhancing design improvements. Coordinate with equipment subject matter experts to define and optimize system interfaces. Solicit, administer, review, and interpret third-party engineering evaluations for performance. Ensure product compliance with codes, standards, and leading practices. Oversee factory acceptance testing and quality control of custom hardware design. QUALIFICATIONS: Job requires a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in industrial or energy sectors. The position requires 5 years of experience in: Mechanical, electrical and thermal designs, to help integrate clean energy technologies for deployable, durable system architectures. Ability to develop conceptual designs, prototype building, testing and verification of PV and energy storage systems. Technical knowledge of electrical diagrams, single line and three-line diagrams, grounding architecture. Equipment and product vendors & manufacturers in the energy sector industry to develop cost-effective solutions. Designing and manufacturing electrical equipment racking and enclosures. Industry electrical codes & standards: IEEE, UL, ANSI, NEC, NFPA. Electrical switchgears, other clean energy systems, electrical devices and equipment to review relay coordination, protection and control schemes, and grounding analysis. The position requires 3 years of experience in power plant design, operations, or commissioning. The position requires 2 years of experience in: Hands-on testing and product verification experience in research and development laboratories. Hands-on experience in the manufacturing and product development of electrical equipment racking and enclosures. Salary:
