Job Title: El Niguel Country Club General Manager/COO GENERAL MANAGER/CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER PROFILE: EL NIGUEL COUNTRY CLUB LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA Located less than a mile from the beautiful beaches of Laguna Niguel, El Niguel Country Club (ENCC) stands as one of the most prestigious private member-owned country clubs in Southern California. A rare and exciting opportunity is now available for a dynamic and engaging leader to step into the role of General Manager/Chief Operating Officer. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of operational excellence and the ability to drive organizational consistency while delivering exceptional member experiences. This individual will cultivate a culture of accountability and service distinction, with a strong focus on creating premier member interactions. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations and be highly experienced in all aspects of club management. GENERAL MANAGER/CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER – POSITION OVERVIEW The General Manager/Chief Operating Officer (GM/COO) at El Niguel Country Club will have full responsibility for all aspects of operations of the Club, effectively managing all resources, and is expected to be the embodiment of an exceptional member-centric experience, providing a clear ‘tone at the top’ model of conduct. The GM/COO will lead the management team and be representative of modern management best service and member experience practices while promoting a positive, engaging, responsive, and highly competent but comfortable and casual service culture in all operations. Key Responsibilities Include : Operational Oversight: Lead and manage all club operations including golf, food and beverage, and clubhouse operations. Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor department heads and staff, promoting a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement. Member Relations: Act as the main point of contact for members, ensuring high levels of member satisfaction through regular communication, feedback collection, and a commitment to delivering exceptional services. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing member experience, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability. Skills Required: Proven financial management skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with members, staff, and the community. Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional member experiences and maintain high service standards. Familiarity with golf and country club operations, trends, and best practices. CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 10 -15 years of progressive leadership experience in private clubs, preferably member-owned, including a minimum of 5 years of GM/COO experience. EDUCATIONAL AND CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field. Industry certifications such as CCM, CCE, CMC, or PGA are encouraged but not required. SALARY AND BENEFITS Salary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Club offers an excellent bonus and benefits package, including association membership.
