LOCATION:
Gordon County Office
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Executive Director is charged with the responsibility of implementing the overall mission and policies of the Gordon County Child Advocacy Center and Sexual Assault Center, through the administration of office personnel, financial management, interaction with partner agencies, and overseeing the coordination and case management of child abuse and sexual assault cases that come through the center. The director will also be responsible for assisting with families and team members during the forensic interview and forensic medical process.
POSITION DUTIES:
Personnel (12%)
Recruit, hire, and train staff and quality volunteers. (1%)
Supervision of direct reports and oversight of staff. (10%)
Conducting annual evaluations of direct reports and providing each direct report with written performance evaluation. (1%)
Administration (22%)
Provide leadership, management, vision and best practice methods to ensure that the mission and core values of the program are in practice. (4%)
Oversee the financial stability of the organization by maintaining government funding sources and private funding relationships. (3%)
Maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including members of the CAC/SAC’s Multidisciplinary Team. (3%)
Ensure that the center has policies and procedures in place to meet state standards and best practices. (3%)
Maintain full membership with Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia. (3%)
Serve as system administrator for Collaborate and Caseworthy to ensure staff provides accurate information regarding child and adult victims to involved agencies to ensure cases are not lost in the system. Track all communication for Collaborate and Caseworthy. (3%)
Provide funder reports as necessary. (3%)
Direct Services (60%)
Coordinate the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings in Gordon County. (2%)
Coordination of forensic interview referrals and forensic medical referrals on a 24/7 basis on an on-call rotation. Provides on-call services to law enforcement and DFCS and returns calls within 1 hour when on-call. (10%)
Greet victims and families, orient them to the waiting room, ensure that victims and families are comfortable, and their needs are met while they are at the center. (2%)
Provide immediate crisis counseling to victims and/or non-offending caregivers. (2%)
Act as advocate to child victims and their non-offending caregivers and adult sexual assault victims. (2%)
Provide crisis intervention, individual support, and follow-up calls for support. (2%)
Aid in referrals for clients to trauma informed services. (2%)
Provide accompaniment to forensic medical exams as needed. (2%)
Aid the victim and/or non-offending caregiver in understanding victim’s rights and the criminal justice process. (2%)
Provide assistance with knowledge of Victim’s Compensation. (2%)
Provide victims with measures of safety, if needed. (2%)
Ensure that data is entered into Collaborate and Caseworthy on an ongoing basis. When needed, enters data in Collaborate system to provide accurate information regarding child victims to involved agencies. (2%)
Conduct recorded forensic interviews and evaluation of children alleged to be victims of abuse as needed, in coordination with investigative agencies. (5%)
Provide testimony in pertinent court proceedings. (2%)
Attend monthly peer review. (2%)
Coordination of annual Summer Camp for sexually abused children. (2%)
Coordination of non-traditional therapy groups for victims. (5%)
Facilitate non-offending caregiver support group. (5%)
Facilitate adult survivors of sexual assault support group. (5%)
Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding clients and services to each individual. (2%)
Community Relations (6%)
Provide training to law enforcement agencies, prosecution, judges and community members about child sexual abuse and sexual assault. (3%)
Oversee outreach and awareness campaigns. (3%)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in the human services field required.
Minimum of five years of work experience in related field required.
Management skills necessary to conduct the financial, personnel and administrative duties of a social service agency.
Strong skills in leadership, public speaking, computers and record management, and oral and written communication required.
Competent to create and recommend policies, goals, and objectives to the Board of Directors.
Highly organized individual who can perform duties in an efficient and methodical manner.
Demonstrates ability to act in a professional manner at all times as a representative of the agency.
Above average interpersonal skills to relate positively to clients, the Board of Directors, partner agencies, contractors, staff and the general public.
Understanding of the specific developmental and welfare needs of children, adolescents and their families.
Knowledge and understanding of the effects of abuse on both children and adults.
Desire to improve the quality of life for victims of crime.
Emotionally prepared, on a daily basis, to interact with sexual assault victims, child abuse victims, and their families in a professionally compassionate manner.
Criminal background check required.
Must pass drug screen.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working specifically with child victims of abuse or adult victims of sexual assault.
Supervisory experience.
Previous grant writing experience.
Master’s degree in a related field.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish).
PAY AND BENEFITS:
Position is 40 hours a week
Flexible working hours
Salary range is $64,000-$70,000
Paid vacation and sick leave provided
11 paid holidays per year
