Litigation Associate

Josephson Dunlap is looking for an attorney to work on our firm’s wage and hour class and collective action docket. We are hiring for litigation and briefing attorney roles. Applicant does not need to have prior wage/hour experience but plaintiff or defendant litigation experience with labor/employment or defense background a plus. This is a great opportunity for attorneys considering switching sides and those who are interested in working in a collaborative legal environment with lots of hands on experience and mentorship. We are willing to consider candidates from outside the Houston area who are interested in relocatin g. · Job Duties : Attorney will be expected to aggressively litigate all aspects of lawsuits and arbitrationsfrom filing new complaints/demands, research/writing, conducting written discovery, taking depositions, attending hearings, trial and negotiating settlements. This position requires 50 hours a week or more of work. · Qualifications/Skills : 3 to 5 years litigation experience handling cases in state or federal court or arbitration (JAMS or AAA). Strong organization, oral and written communication, and analytical skills. Deposition experience important but not required. Trial/arbitration experience a plus. Detail oriented, adherence to deadlines, ability to multi-task. Ability to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced environment. Ability to draft and send assorted documents to clients, counsel and courts as needed, such as correspondence, deposition notices, briefs, motions, orders, complaints and discovery. Familiar with a variety of computer applications and internet programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, Litify, Salesforce, Needles and ECF/Pacer. · Compensation : Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
