Job Summary In coordination with Corporate Purchasing, the position will perform sourcing of goods and services for the business including the areas of indirect purchases, MRO purchases, Fleet, contract labor services, direct material purchases, negotiating, establishing, and managing vendor contract agreements. The position analyzes and monitors supplier performance, which includes initiating and managing ongoing projects to reduce overall procurement costs and improve supplier flexibility, delivery, and performance. Responsibilities Serve as the primary supply chain liaison between North American manufacturing plants and European headquarters. Visit suppliers to audit facilities and processes along with the quality department. Source and interview vendors; negotiate contracts and costs in coordination with Corporate Purchasing Manager Procure and evaluate rates provided to Pelliconi by suppliers to establish competitive prices while maintaining proper communication. Responsible for monitoring monthly purchases to annual purchases to assure receiving rebate at the end of the year. Send PO’s for release depending on validation strategy as well as to suppliers or the person in charge Develop category strategy and supplier market knowledge Consistently develop backup supply chain partners for all raw materials; Creating/validating supplier capacity models emphasizing Continuity Business Planning Work along with corporate to develop and maintain robust, ethical supplier relationships to ensure qualified vendors comply with procurement standards, schedules, and other requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Bachelor’s degree in Business/Materials Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience. 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role (Procurement Specialist) Prior experience with SAP ERP (preferred) Proven success in a manufacturing environment. Fluent English and French speaker and communication skills, Italian speaking a plus; Experience of the principles, methods, and practices related to purchasing, logistics, and quality systems Experience with supplier commodity processes and practices Direct and Indirect Material Sourcing and contract negotiation experience Demonstrated experience with driving cost reduction and other savings initiatives Experience working in environments where ISO, CMMI, and other standards are required.
