About The Client My client are a market leading Electrical Contractor who have been trading for over 50 year's. They are one of the largest providers for electrical installation, audio visual, fire and life safety, low voltage and security across America. With offices branched out over the US, they offer complete electrical services to fortune 500 companies, commercial businesses, educational facilities, government buildings, healthcare facilities and large venues. About The Role Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings of fire alarm and/or other related electrical system for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems. Coordinate with the assigned Project Manager and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently. Diagnoses causes of electrical problems or failures in assigned systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair. Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health building regulations. Inspects electrical / fire alarm / security systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating conditions, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenance. Technical degree in Fire Science preferred NICET Certification FASA BASA 2-5 years’ experience as technician supporting fire solutions projects. Past field experience working in a solutions or construction base business. About The Candidate Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Access control, CCTV, and security system equipment testing, repair, and maintenance procedures; technical and operating methods, tools, equipment, and materials used in security system equipment testing, repair, installation, and maintenance work; procedures used for installing and maintaining security systems and equipment; use, calibration, and care of electronic test equipment; and security system cabling color code and installation standards. 1-2 years working in electronics, basic electric circuit troubleshooting (working knowledge of Ohms law) Use of an Electronic (FLUKE) multi-meter to find open circuits, short circuits and ground faulted circuits in networking or other field wiring Must be able to read technical documents, drawings, and prints. Must have good communication skills and the ability to think on their feet. As the environment is fast paced and technically demanding. Must be familiar with the installation and operations of fiber optics, Cat 5e, 6a, RS 485, 232 analog and digital cable specifications. Have a working knowledge of class 2 cabling as it pertains to NFPA 72, BICSI and other relevant codes established and governing the installation of low voltage systems. Familiar with platforms such as Kan-Tech, DMP, Software House and S2 Security Systems. Familiar with IP Video and Storage Solutions as well as Analog Video, Axis, Honeywell Working knowledge of the NEC and electrical/electronic calculations Installs electrical system components as assigned (e.g., panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations detectors, etc.) for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded system capabilities.
