What’s the role?As the Director of Tax, you will play a critical role in building out the tax accounting function as well as scaling the accounting operations here at Bilt Rewards. You should have a deep understanding of tax accounting and risk exposure and be able to navigate all matters related to tax. You should also have some experience in general accounting practices. In this role, you will… Own corporate tax initiatives, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and optimizing tax strategiesHelp the business optimize for Federal and State tax compliance including audits Play a key role in our month-end close process, implementing best practices and improvementsOversee the execution of proper accounting methods, policies, and principles, including those related to taxAssist with the monthly balance sheet reconciliation reviewsSupport the annual audit process including all matters related to taxSupport Accounting leadership in cross-functional projects and the enforcement of policies and procedures that impact financial statement closeSupporting finance/accounting system implementationsIn terms of qualifications, we’re seeking:7-10+ years of experience in tax accounting, with a strong understanding of corporate tax regulations and complianceExperience with Accounting Software, Quickbooks Online, and NetSuite is a plusStrong, comprehensive understanding of US GAAPStrong problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAn expert in managing several high-priority projects simultaneously and time management skillsExperience navigating unstructured environments, early-stage startups are a plusDetail-oriented and analytical, producing high-quality work while meeting tight deadlinesTax experience in the banking/credit card space is a plus CPA license a plusBenefits:Compensation - We offer a competitive salary with a meaningful stake in the company via equity and our performance bonus programHealth insurance for you (& your loved ones) from day one - Enjoy a One Medical Membership, wellness stipends, family programs and more, on us. Leveling will be based upon your experience and performance in the interview process.Where a new hire falls within a range will be based on their individual skills and experience, and how these competencies compare across other employees in the same role. Bilt's bands are designed to allow for individual compensation growth within the role. As such, new hires typically start at the lower end of the range. Bilt rewards performance and outcomes - should you join the company, you will have the opportunity to grow your salary over time.The salary range for a Director, Tax is $150,000 - 210,000 and will be eligible for equity and an annual performance-based bonus.
