Boston, MassachusettsHybridFull Time$130k - $180kAs a Senior Robotics Integration Engineer you will play a pivotal role in integrating complex robotic systems, ensuring seamless performance across our clients autonomous vehicle platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with software, hardware, and testing teams to implement, test, and optimize system components, contributing to their goal of advancing autonomous vehicle technology. Your work will ensure robust, efficient, and safe operations of our clients vehicles in real-world environments.Key Responsibilities:Lead the integration of robotic subsystems, including sensors, control systems, actuators, and communications, ensuring their interoperability within autonomous vehicles.Develop, configure, and optimize middleware for robotic communication and control, ensuring real-time data transmission and processing.Work with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, validate functionality, and perform troubleshooting to resolve integration issues.Conduct simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to validate system performance and address any integration bottlenecks.Implement testing procedures, tools, and benchmarks to evaluate system performance, reliability, and safety.Assist with firmware and software updates on robotic components to enhance functionality and operational safety.Document integration processes, maintain system architecture documentation, and provide training and support to the team on best integration practices.Contribute to the overall system design, participating in planning and review sessions to improve product scalability and functionality.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in robotics integration, preferably with autonomous vehicle or advanced robotics platforms.Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for integration tasks, with experience in ROS/ROS2 and other robotic frameworks.In-depth knowledge of robotics middleware, sensor fusion, communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, UDP), and control systems.Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, Carla) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems for real-time testing.Demonstrated problem-solving skills with experience in debugging complex hardware-software interactions.Knowledge of safety-critical systems, fault tolerance, and robust design practices for autonomous robotics.Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional, fast-paced environments.Preferred Skills:Familiarity with autonomous vehicle-specific systems such as LIDAR, radar, cameras, and other advanced sensors.Experience with machine learning models and algorithms applied to perception and navigation.Knowledge of cybersecurity protocols for embedded and robotic systems.Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies in robotics development.What We Offer:Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in autonomous robotics and contribute to impactful solutions in the industry.Collaborative and innovative work environment with highly skilled professionals.Competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for career growth within the company.This is an exciting role for a robotics engineer passionate about integration and the advancement of autonomous vehicle systems.
