DescriptionA leading manufacturing company in the Frederick, MD area is seeking an experienced Senior Controller to join their dynamic team as the result of a recent retirement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within the manufacturing industry, with at least 7-10 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This individual will play a key role in driving financial strategy, managing internal controls, and supporting operational growth initiatives. A CPA or CMA designation is preferred, along with expertise in ERP systems and manufacturing cost accounting.If you are a proactive leader with exceptional analytical and communication skills, ready to make an impact in a fast-paced environment, please email your resume to Jim Meade at Robert Half, apply here or connect with him on LinkedIn.Responsibilities:• Manage all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards• Prepare monthly financial statements.• Maintain internal controls and safeguards for assets.• Audit inventory cycle-counts periodically.• Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.• Coordinate annual review of Financial Statement and tax compliance with outside independent accounting firm.• Maintain interaction with commercial lender and equipment financing personnel regarding monthly compliance requirements and documentation.• Produce financial analyses and historical metrics for presentation to senior management.• Manage annual budget process and provide monthly variance analyses.• Assist in achieving budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.Requirements• Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field• Expertise in Manufacturing Cost Accounting and Cost Accounting• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required• Proven ability to prepare Financial Statements• Strong knowledge of Internal Control procedures• Experience in conducting Annual Inventory• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and stakeholders• Excellent communication and presentation skills• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• High degree of professionalism and ethical standards• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)• Excellent organizational and time management skills• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlinesJob typePerm
