About the Company & Overview of the Role:
Our top client is well known in the local education industry. Due to an upcoming system conversion, they are looking to hire an additional Staff Accountant to join their medium sized accounting team
This position will be on a contract basis for 3+ months
Candidates must be local to the Baltimore area
Schedule: 8-5 M-F
Position is
100% in office in Baltimore City.

Reports directly to the Controller

Tasks Include:
Post financial transactions
Review and reconcile accounts, making adjustments and journal entries as needed
Prepare annual operational budget
Participate in the annual audit preparation
Ensure grant related activities are in compliance with federal, state, and local mandates
Review inconsistencies in financial entries
Provide monthly financial reports to management
Ad hoc duties as assigned
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
3+ years of related experience required
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related required
Strong Excel use required- ability to create pivot tables, knowledge of formulas, and do VLOOKUP
Comfortable with manual processes
