Newport News, Virginia Overview The Project Manager IT Senior reports to Senior IT Management and is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to deadlines and within budget. The Project Manager (PM) will define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout the life cycle, in accordance with the mission, strategic goals and priorities of the organization. The PM will assist in acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. This role serves as a mentor and coach on quality, productivity, and customer service standards to assigned team members. What you will do Support operational projects and special assignments. Understand needs and makes recommendations. Implement production, quality and customer service standards for the project. Mentor and coach the team. Define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle. Ensure the project goals align with the Riverside Health System (RHS) strategic plan. Collaborate with multiple functional areas to determine system improvements and implement change. Provide project updates and ongoing project support. Work with third party contractors or consultants to meet project objectives. Schedule project meetings/calls so project stays on schedule, on budget, and expectations are clearly defined. Develop, complete and update action plans and project plans. Continually assess and mitigate risk to project schedules. Escalate concerns and unresolved issues to Senior IT Management. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED, (Required) Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience (3-4 years of Project Management and 5-6 years Healthcare Information Systems/Technology) (Required) Masters Degree, (Preferred) Experience 3-4 years Project Management (Required) Healthcare Project Management experience strongly preferred 5-6 years Healthcare Information Systems/Technology (Preferred) Skills and Abilities Must complete Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green or Black Belt training within 1 1/2 years Must complete Riverside's Change Acceleration Process (CAP) Course within 1 year Licenses and Certifications Change Acceleration Process Training - Riverside Health System (RHS) within 1 Year(Required) Six Sigma Green Belt - Riverside Health System (RHS) within 1-1/2 Yrs(Required) or Six Sigma Black Belt - Riverside Health System (RHS) within 1-1/2 Yrs(Required) Project Management Professional (PMP) - Project Management Institute Inc within 1-1/2 Yrs(Preferred) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) - Project Management Institute (PMI) within 1-1/2 Yrs(Preferred) or Agile Certification - Project Management Institute (PMI) within 1-1/2 Yrs(Preferred) Certification in EMR or EPR system used by organization such as: () Epic Certification issued by Epic within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required) or ServiceNow Certification issued by ServiceNow within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required) or Workday Certification issued by Workday within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required) or Other approved certification as approved by hiring manager within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required) To learn more about being a team member with Riverside Health System visit us at https://www.riversideonline.com/careers.
