DevOps/Platform Engineer II & III

Highbury Defense Group currently has multiple openings for DevOps/Platform Engineer II & III . This position has needs for on-site, hybrid, and remote work environments with ideal candidates being geographically located in San Diego, CA. Typically, on-site work will be 3 days per week. This position has the option to work a 9/80 schedule, which is a compressed work schedule, with alternate Fridays off. This position may have an opportunity for foreign travel if desired. Job Description: Design and implement innovative technologies for automating, integrating, and delivering containerized web applications and services for the Department of Defense (DoD). Day-to-day efforts include working with highly talented professionals and subject matter experts to design, implement, and sustain mission-critical software systems that provide US Navy warfighters with the tools and resources for successfully planning and executing missions. Use containers (e.g., Docker, Rancher) and orchestration configurations (e.g., Helm, OpenShift) to deploy software using microservice architecture to support Navy DevSecOps initiatives. Develop security hardened container images to comply with operational DoD compliance. Create automated Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline daily software development operations. Requirements Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent CompTIA Security Certified (or able to obtain one within 30 days) Demonstrated 2-6 years of DevOps experience with: Containerization (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher) Container orchestration tools (i.e., Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm) Infrastructure-as-Code (i.e., Ansible, Vagrant, Terraform, CloudFormation) CI/CD automation tools (i.e., GitLab, Jenkins, AWS Code Build, Azure Pipelines) Linux operating systems (i.e., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) Automation and Scripting (i.e., Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.) Cyber security practices (i.e., Active Directory, HBSS, etc.) Working in headless RHEL environments Desired Qualifications: Currently hold an active U.S. security clearance or be able to obtain one Data pipeline tools (i.e., Apache NiFi, Kafka, Databricks, MinIO) Cyber security tools (i.e., OpenSCAP, Snyk, JFrog Xray, Anchore) Secret management tools such as HashiCorp Vault Demonstrated experience with: Cloud computing infrastructure or development (i.e., AWS, Microsoft Azure) Full-stack software development (i.e., Java, .NET, JavaScript, SQL) Utilizing Atlassian suite or equivalent (i.e., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) Test automation frameworks (i.e., Selenium, Cypress) Configurating OIDC and OAuth applications Salary at Highbury Defense is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000-159,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Highbury Defense's total compensation package for employees.
