Job Description: Tax Manager Client: Lipschultz, Levin & Gray (LLG) Location: Northbrook, IL Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite (5 days per week) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing team in Northbrook, IL. This is a leadership role that requires a strong background in tax preparation, review, and compliance, as well as the ability to mentor and manage junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a CPA license, in-depth knowledge of tax laws, and excellent interpersonal skills. Primary Responsibilities Tax Preparation & Review : Prepare and review federal and multi-state tax returns for businesses, partnerships, individuals, trusts, and non-profits. Tax Planning : Develop and review annual tax provisions and planning calculations for estimates and extensions. Research & Compliance : Research complex tax matters, monitor legislative changes, and propose resolutions to tax-related challenges. Client Interaction : Build and sustain strong client relationships, respond to inquiries, and handle communications with tax authorities. Team Management : Supervise, mentor, and train interns, part-time staff, and junior associates. Additional Duties : Perform other accounting and tax-related responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Must-Have Education : Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Experience : Minimum 6 years of experience in public accounting, with a stable work history. Tax Expertise : Strong knowledge of tax laws, including recent updates and changes. Technical Skills : Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online). Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with CCH ProSystem FX or Axcess Tax, and Caseware. Soft Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues with sound judgment. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. Experience working with mid-sized companies (LLC, S-Corp) and high-net-worth individuals/trusts.
