Network Security Engineer

The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security measures to protect our network and data systems. This role involves working closely with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our network resources. Key Responsibilities Security Design: Develop and implement network security architectures, policies, and controls to protect against threats and vulnerabilities. Monitoring: Continuously monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify and respond to potential threats or security breaches. Incident Response: Manage and respond to network security incidents, including investigating, mitigating, and documenting findings. Vulnerability Management: Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address network weaknesses. Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant security standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001). Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network security configurations, policies, procedures, and incident responses. Collaboration: Work with IT and other teams to integrate security measures into network designs and ensure secure operations. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 3 years of experience in network security or a related field, with hands-on experience managing network security technologies. Technical Skills: Proficiency with network security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM systems). Network Protocols: Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S). Incident Response: Experience in managing and responding to security incidents, including analysis and remediation. Certifications: Relevant network security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security, CISSP, CEH). Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex security issues. Preferred Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree in Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 5 years of experience in network security, including experience with designing and managing complex security infrastructures. Advanced Skills: Expertise in advanced network security techniques, such as threat hunting, advanced persistent threat (APT) detection, and security operations. Cloud Security: Experience with cloud security platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Certifications: Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP-ISSEP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)). Industry Experience: Experience in aerospace or technology sectors, particularly with high-security and mission-critical systems. ITAR Requirements: This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
