IT Software Development Advisor

Akkodis is seeking an IT Software Development Advisor for a Contract-to-hire job with a client in Memphis, TN (Remote) . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions while collaborating with teams to ensure the integration and performance of claims-related applications. Rate Range: $60/hour to $61/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. IT Software Development Advisor job responsibilities include: Designing, developing, and maintaining software systems to meet business and application requirements. Writing and optimizing Progress 4GL/Open Edge programs, including GUI and backend development. Developing and managing APIs, ensuring seamless data integration with Open Edge databases. Analyzing and modeling data to ensure the integrity and scalability of claims-related applications. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and design specifications. Leading performance tuning efforts to improve application efficiency and query performance. Testing, debugging, and maintaining software to ensure functionality and meet user needs. Assisting in the design and development of server-side programs for distributed applications. Supporting and troubleshooting escalated issues from support staff and users. Maintaining documentation on software changes, processes, and system functionality. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field. At least 8 years of experience in software development, with 5 years specifically in Progress 4GL/Open Edge. Strong expertise in developing and optimizing APIs, particularly with Open Edge DB as source or target.
