Accounting Specialist | INTERVIEWS HAPPENING THIS WEEK Job Type : Full-Time Location : 275 Industrial Way W, Eatontown, New Jersey, 07724-2205, United States Pay : $38 to 45 an hour A leading company is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their accounts receivable team. This role involves maintaining financial practices and procedures for timely and accurate processing, tracking, and recording of payments. The employee will have contact with managerial level staff and external vendors, which requires strong written and verbal communication skills. The position pays close attention to important deadlines, audit preparation, and various other financial activities. What you'll be responsible for : Performing daily cash management duties, including recording bank deposits, updating and distributing cash receipt logs, and posting and applying cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger and customer accounts. Reconciling the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted, credits are properly applied, and miscellaneous differences are cleared. Obtaining information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete, and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up-to-date. Researching and resolving account discrepancies. Assisting in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvement. Facilitating payment of invoices by sending bill reminders and contacting customers. Generating financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status. Generating invoices from the system and forwarding them to the billing clerk for customer distribution. Addressing customer questions by routing them to the proper supervisor. Entering some invoices manually before billing to customers. Coding invoices and inputting them into the accounting system payables module (1k a month). Working closely with the supply coordinator to ensure proper entry of purchase orders for invoice matching. Reconciling vendor statements. Preparing and processing check/ACH payments for multiple entities on a weekly basis. Maintaining accounts payable files. What you'll bring : Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required. At least two to five years of related experience, required. Proven working experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or accountant. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles. Hands-on experience with accounting software. Proficiency in MS Office. Intermediate MS Excel skills, including VLookUp and Pivot Table. Experience in MS Great Plains preferred. Customer service orientation. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. What you’ll get : Possibility to potentially go permanent. Work hours: Monday to Friday full time.
