Job Title: Sr. Back End (Java) Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC Duration: long term Type: Hybrid - must be on site 2x per week in CLT INTERVIEWS: In person - live coding required / 1-2 rounds - first will be initial screening Job Description: MUST HAVE SKILLS: This role is for a strong Senior Java engineer who can do technical coding to help the team Microservice experience Strong Sprint boot Micronaut framework - preferred but not required PROJECT: Building a brand new platform for multiple channels to run through Network planning application Application for users to run channels MUST HAVE SKILLS: Extensive experience in application development using JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2 stored procedures, VSAM, MQ Proficient in core Java, preferably java 1.11 or above. Should have involved in the development of Micro services with Spring boot. Should be good in writing SQLs. Should have worked in Agile methodology. Kafka experience is an added advantage. Experience in bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins, devOPs practices is advantageous. Please provide 1-2 sentences about the project that will be worked on. He / She would be working on modernizing PO Management application and its integrations. FORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and to deliver code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. This includes developing, configuring, or modifying complex integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments. This role facilitates the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications. Translates complex cross-functional business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions; partners with Product Team to understand business needs and functional specifications Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure specifications are converted into flexible, scalable, and maintainable solution designs; evaluates project deliverables to ensure they meet specifications and architectural standards Coordinates, executes, and participates in component integration (CIT) scenarios, systems integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT) to identify application errors and to ensure quality software deployment Participates in all software development end-to-end product lifecycle phases by applying and sharing an in-depth understanding of complex company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls Has solid grasp of software design patterns and approaches; understands application level software architecture; makes technical trade-off decisions at application level Automates and simplifies team development, test, and operations processes; develops detailed architecture plans for large scale enterprise architecture projects and drives the plans to fruition Solves complex architecture/design and business problems; solutions are extensible; works to simplify, optimize, remove bottlenecks, etc.
