The Cloud Infrastructure Architect Sr. will serve as the technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure solutions, with a focus on security, scalability, and performance. This role involves providing architectural direction and guidance across multiple cloud platforms, ensuring seamless integration, and supporting the development and deployment of cloud-based applications. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and third-party vendors to achieve a robust, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure environment. The Cloud Infrastructure Architect Sr. will be responsible for ensuring that the architecture aligns with both business goals and technical requirements. This role involves designing and documenting cloud architectures using customer-approved formats while incorporating best practices for security, scalability, and performance. The architect will lead and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure cloud solutions enable seamless integration of new capabilities while maintaining overall system integrity. Additionally, the architect will provide technical leadership in the adoption and implementation of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated deployment processes. A key aspect of this role is evaluating and integrating emerging cloud technologies, such as containerization, serverless architectures, and multi-cloud strategies, into existing infrastructure. The architect will also assess and optimize cloud resource utilization, performance, and cost-effectiveness. In cases of complex cloud infrastructure issues, the architect will assist in troubleshooting and resolution efforts. Collaboration with senior technical staff across product lines is essential to establish and enforce design and implementation guidelines. Furthermore, the architect will ensure that the cloud infrastructure adheres to compliance and security standards, including data privacy and protection requirements. Strong communication skills and extensive experience in providing technical leadership for cloud infrastructure design and implementation efforts. Proficiency in cloud architecture patterns, including microservices, containerization, and serverless frameworks. Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including relevant services and tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker). Experience with private cloud platforms such as VMWare VCF and VCD are a plus. Expertise in evaluating and implementing emerging cloud technologies and industry standards. Ability to analyze and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, including load balancing, auto-scaling, and disaster recovery planning. Experience with DevOps processes and tools, including CI/CD, IaC, and monitoring solutions. Strong background in security practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university. Minimum 10 plus years of systems engineering/software development experience. Minimum of 5 years of development experience. Broad and in-depth technical knowledge of web system and application technologies such as SOA, web services, enterprise service bus, Linux and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems. Experience in the design, application and implementation of virtualization and cloud computing solutions. Experience with DevOps processes and tools. Experience in development of web-based applications. Experience in hosted application deployment, system load testing and load balancing technologies. Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, including integrating on-premises infrastructure with public cloud services. Familiarity with cloud cost management tools and strategies. Knowledge of cloud security tools and best practices for proactive threat detection and response. Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status and a SECRET security clearance, with an ability to obtain a TOP SECRET security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.
