ML Engineer Who You Are You are an analytical, framework thinker You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment You are highly collaborative You are strong at translating Data Science concepts to non-technical audiences You are business focused, measuring work by its contributions to business outcomes and prioritizing effort against deliverables accordingly You are interested in pushing the envelope of automated econometric modeling Your Qualifications 4 years of relevant experience in Data Science and/or Machine Learning with direct impact on business value B.S., M.S., or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science or relevant quantitative field You have a strong understanding of Generalized Linear Models You can write efficient code in Python, especially using NumPy and Pandas You have experience with NumPy and Pandas (or equivalent experience in R) You have experience with Hypothesis Testing and Maximum Likelihood Estimation You have experience in A/B testing and Design of Experiments You are strong in math and statistics: Linear Algebra, Bayesian Methods, Regressions, Calculus You have experience in Machine Learning methods: Tree-based methods (GBDT, Random Forest), Neural Networks (Deep Learning, Embeddings, Sequence Modeling, CNN), Regularization Methods (L1/L2 penalties, Feature Selection, Dimensionality Reduction) You have Demand Modeling, Pricing and Casual Inference experience You have Agile experience Startup experience strongly preferred What You'll Do You will research, implement and modify modern Data Science techniques. More specifically: Build Statistical and Machine Learning models that describe the impact of prices and promotions on shopper behavior, including behavioral pricing effects. You'll need to find middle ground between using flexible modern AI methods and proven classical methods. Develop Optimization and Experiment Design systems, which determine the best prices to set for each product in each store each week. Finding a good balance on the exploration-exploitation tradeoff will be important. Write code that automatically designs, runs, and analyzes pricing experiments across hundreds of stores and tens of thousands of products Create model validation methods to make sure that our models are accurate and to quantify the impact of our solutions on the clients' bottom line You will work with Product Management to generate ideas and quickly turn them into efficient, well-tested, functioning code (we mostly use Python) You will partner with the Engineering team to create highly scalable solutions You will serve as a Data Science expert both within and for our clients Help prioritize new feature development by assessing potential impact Lead custom analyses and connect them to actionable Business and Product insights Be a go-to resource for science-related questions about the product What's in it for You You will experience the excitement of working at and growing with an expanding venture-backed SaaS startup where you can make a huge difference You will be part of an exceptionally talented team that retains a significant focus on personal and professional development You will be part of a significant period of growth for the business Location Remote US Culture, Benefits, and Perks We've pivoted our benefits offerings to support the current remote work environment in addition to our standard core offerings.
