How you will create an impact The core voice architect is a technical subject matter expert focused on all areas of enterprise telephony solutions. In this role, you will provide overall direction for architecture and design within AIG’s global landscape. This Individual owns design, development, and deployment of core voice strategy, current, transitional and target state architectures and roadmaps. Lead architect responsible for designing and developing scalable and highly available global voice architectures in alignment with AIG IT and business objectives. Collaborates and leads with other architects in the creation, adoption, and spread of technology standards and principles for engineering teams.This role will be a key stakeholder in determining the future state of our global telephony strategy, with a strong focus on business requirements and value. This will include the evaluation of current state, defining the roadmap for future business needs, improving the user experience, and reducing complexity. This is a senior level role that will interact with key business leads on strategic projects. 10 years of proven industry experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale multi-vendor enterprise telephony solutions. Responsibilities Define, develop, and maintain an aspirational architectural road map and vision of enterprise telephony, ensuring that specific technologies are appropriately designed and leveraged. Lead architect responsible for designing and developing scalable and highly available solution architectures in alignment with AIG IT and business objectives. Partner with regional stakeholders and governing boards to enforce architecture standards. Evaluate alternative technologies and architectures in relation to consolidated communications' infrastructure needs. Manage complex activities simultaneously to short timescales. Develop state of the art technology appropriate to deliver stable and scalable technical solutions utilizing a cloud-first methodology. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop consensus, drive results, and execute projects across the organization on time and within budget. Develop and maintain standards and designs for core voice architecture. Articulate design rationale, adapt solutions, and iterate designs when required. Work closely with senior management, engineering and operations teams. Act as an escalation engineer for high severity telephony related production issues, work with engineers and various vendors to identify tactical and strategic solutions. Applies advanced analysis within area of architectural specialization to make decisions. Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures, and emerging technologies. What you'll need to succeed 10 years of experience in enterprise level core voice technologies. Expert level knowledge in Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking, call flows, as well as unified communications protocols. Experience with Session Border Controller (SBC) and Session Management technologies. Oracle Communications (Acme Packet) product experience preferred Experience with legacy and next generation telephony/SIP carrier offerings for both DID and Toll-Free services. Experience with Microsoft Teams, Genesys Cloud, and emerging cloud-based UC platforms. Sound background in core voice migration activities related to TDM to SIP, carrier to carrier, toll free and on-premises to cloud-based solutions. Demonstrates expert level experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications Able to develop self and others through coaching, contributing to team success, continuously learning, and sharing knowledge. Demonstrate ability to formally present technical material related to design governance and metrics-based initiatives. Able to interact with vendors to understand the product/technology lifecycle, follow end-of-life and provide recommendation for changes/upgrades. Demonstrates tactical and strategic ownership of assigned initiatives to drive overall success. Demonstrates high analytical skills and is self-motivated/directed. Applies standards consistently across all solutions. Demonstrates senior level technical skills and ability to successfully standardize complex, non-routine UC designs to provide consistent customer service experience. Demonstrates strategic foresight while employing hands-on technical skills on projects and work assignments Demonstrates ability to develop, organize and analyze performance metrics in their given function Demonstrates ability to develop, communicate and educate on standard operating procedures within their given function Must possess extreme professionalism, customer service attitude, attention to detail/quality, ability to multitask, team focus, strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal/written communication skills. Demonstrates ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and take direction from multiple areas. For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $99,000-$143,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
