Job Title : Antenna Design Release Engineer (DRE) Location : Plymouth, Michigan Department : Engineering / Product Development Position Type : Contract (1 or 2 positions available) Job Summary : eShocan is seeking an experienced Antenna Design Release Engineer (DRE) to join our engineering team in Plymouth, Michigan . The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing antenna systems, including AM/FM and GPS antennas. You will be responsible for managing the design, development, and integration of antenna systems, collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and international stakeholders to ensure performance, quality, and cost requirements are met. Key Responsibilities : Antenna Design & Development : Lead the design and development of AM/FM and GPS antenna systems for automotive applications, ensuring they meet performance and regulatory requirements. Technical Expertise : Apply radio frequency (RF) knowledge and antenna design principles to optimize system performance and integration. Supplier Management : Issue design specifications to suppliers and manage supplier schedules, performance, and quality to ensure timely delivery of components. Part List & Documentation : Manage the part list for antenna systems, issue internal design documents, and manage engineering change instructions, wiring specifications, and other related documentation. Collaboration with Stakeholders : Work closely with internal teams, external suppliers, and international stakeholders in cross-functional teams to design packaging structures, prepare detailed drawings, and manage schedules for complex engineering challenges. Part Development & Optimization : Lead and manage part development, ensuring that project targets for cost , mass , performance , and schedule are met with a focus on high quality , efficiency , and optimization throughout the lifecycle, from design through production. Requirements : Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and development of antenna systems , particularly AM/FM and GPS antennas for automotive or similar applications. Technical Skills : Strong understanding of radio frequency (RF) principles and antenna design. Knowledge of antenna validation techniques and performance optimization. Experience with design specifications , engineering change management , and wiring specifications . Proficiency in CATIA V5 (or other CAD tools) for design and drawing preparation. Collaboration & Communication : Strong ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, managing relationships with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and other design departments. Problem-Solving Mindset : Ability to manage complex engineering challenges and find innovative solutions to ensure product quality, performance, and cost optimization. Attention to Detail : Proven ability to handle detailed design work, ensuring compliance with performance and regulatory requirements. Preferred Qualifications : Automotive Industry Experience : Experience in automotive antenna systems, including AM/FM and GPS antennas , is highly desirable. International Experience : Previous experience working with international teams and suppliers is a plus. Design Software Proficiency : Familiarity with CATIA V5 , Zuken CAD , or other similar design tools.
