Full-Time and Permanent; Non-Exempt; 8 Hours/Day; 252 Days/Year; 12 Months/Year; Grade: KK General Responsibilities Performs a variety of skilled, journey level electrician tasks associated with the installation, modification and repair of commercial type electrical systems, controls and equipment; performs related work as required. Education and Experience Completion of the tenth grade (high school diploma desirable), including or supplemented by completion of appropriate apprenticeship electrical training and considerably experience in the electrical trade; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above noted knowledge, skill, and ability. Certificate of Asbestos Training, Journeyman Electrician License, and possession of an appropriate, valid automotive vehicle operator's license. Essential Job Functions Oversees and participates in the work of a small group of employees engaged in performing a variety of skilled mastery level electrical duties on the interior and exterior of buildings, including single and multi-phased work on electrical systems and associated equipment in accordance with building, fire and electrical codes. Receives work orders, sketches plan, procures materials and oversees completion of work; troubleshoots, tests, repairs or modifies electrical systems and equipment. Repairs and maintains electrical systems and equipment including, but not limited to, electrical motors, motor controls, blowers, pumps, in-door and out-door lighting fixtures, heating systems, control panels, main and distribution circuit breakers, lighting and power distribution panel boards, surge protectors, and emergency generators, change out electrical panels, work on elevators, fire and boiler control circuitry, designs complex electrical installation. Modifies existing line service and installs new electrical service wiring, including determining the type, size, location, routing and design of conduit; operates and maintains hand and power tools, including multi-meters, amp meters, circuit tracers, hydraulic and mechanical conduit benders, and volt meters. Uses ladders, scaffolding, and personnel lifts. Ensures proper maintenance of tools and other electrical equipment; ensures safety of the work area. Drives a vehicle to and from work locations and keeps the vehicle supplied with tools and materials. Orders, procures and assembles parts and materials from vendors and supply houses; performs operator maintenance on vehicles and keeps it in orderly condition; keeps records and makes reports of work accomplished and materials used.
