POSITION SUMMARY: Plans and performs all necessary preparation and painting refinishing buildings (interior and exterior), furniture and equipment. TYPICAL DUTIES : Mixes paints to desired color, shade and consistency using proportions of pigment, base and thinner. Prepares and applies stains for furniture. Prepares surfaces properly for painting (wash, scrape, wire brush, etc.). Applies paint enamels, etc. to proper thickness, using brush, roller or spray. Refinishes wood floors. Erects and dismantles scaffolding. Lays drop cloths to protect floors and furniture from paint splattering; moves furniture as necessary. Cleans area after painting: cleans brushes and other painting equipment. Performs other special duties requiring comparable skill and responsibility as directed by supervision. May guide the work of Painter-B. REQUIREMENTS : 4-5 years experience.
