Citrin Cooperman is seeking a State and Local Tax (SALT) Senior for our National Tax Practice. At Citrin Cooperman, we offer you the flexibility to take your career to the next level and still allow you to focus on what matters to you Responsibilities, but not limited to: Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, tax work, and wrap-up. Possess general knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws - corporate, individual, trust, gifts, and partnership taxation; specialized knowledge of real estate and/or international is a plus. Perform tax research to resolve issues. Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel. Identify and communicate tax matters to Supervisors, Managers and Partners. Build relationships with clients and staff. Research state and local tax controversies Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA/JD and advance degree in taxation or in progress. Minimum 3-5 years multistate state and local tax experience required. Basic knowledge of Sales/use tax and income/franchise tax required. Knowledge of property tax, payroll tax and unclaimed property helpful but not required. Excellent research and writing skills required. Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills. Knowledge of CCH Axcess, XCM & CCH Document is a plus. Work directly with state auditors to resolve client audit issues. Assist Citrin Cooperman personnel with sales tax and income tax questions. Research technical state tax issues and document conclusions with detailed memorandum. Work directly with clients to address state tax issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, but also work well with others. For positions in New York and California, the salary range is $82,000 $150,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
