Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant specialties License: NC or Compact license required at time of start Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications Must-Have: - Experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips - PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience - Telemetry, Interpretation, and Management of Dysrhythmias - Experience with Rapid Response Teams, IV insulin protocols - Blood Product Administration, Central Line Care/Management - Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC Line Management - Heparin Protocols, CVA Management, Chest Tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac) - Experience with External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula - Non-invasive Airway Management, Tracheostomy Management, Isolation Precautions - Telemetry on-unit monitoring - EKG Testing proficiency

Job Description: - PCU Unit operates similar to an ICU - Travel experience welcome for first-time travelers - Candidates should have confidence working with telemetry and conscious sedation - Patients include post-rapid response team, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, post-op (GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomies, neuro, ortho surgeries) - Pre/post OB with complications (e.g., Pitocin) - Patient age range from adolescent to geriatric - Special procedures include administration of Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo drips - Nurses must be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias - Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 or 4:1 - Special equipment includes bedside telemetry monitors, remote backups (no vents on the unit) - Floating required as needed to sister unit, another ICCU - Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend - Navy, white, or a combination of the two scrubs required - Hospital orientation required, with EKG testing prior to start - Modules required pre-start and annually; non-billable hours vary by specialty
