is looking for
Nurse Practitioners
specializing in
Cardiac Surgery
for an immediate project. Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year experience. Prior experience in an inpatient setting strongly preferred. Must be NYS licensed/registered NP (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice) or NYS licensed/registered or NCCPA certified or eligible Physician Assistant required. Possession of Medicare NPI# or eligibility to apply for same required. CPR and ACLS certification is required. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance. Duties Critical care management of post-op cardiac surgery patients in the ICU and step-down unit. Daily rounding with multidisciplinary team to establish comprehensive care plans. Will also work in collaboration with attending physicians to develop daily care plans. Knowledge of post-op cardiac surgery patient management including, but not limited to: IABP management, ECMO management, PA catheter management, titrating and ordering pressors and inotropic medications. Proficiency in pulling arterial lines, chest tubes, pacing wires, IABPs. Complete pre-operative consultations by evaluating pre-op cardiac surgery patients and evaluating pre-operative testing. Complete admissions to the cardiac surgery service. Participating in patient management, performing and/or ordering selected surgical procedures, tests, and exams for diagnostic purposes, facilitating discharges via participation in multi-disciplinary rounds, and collaborating with numerous disciplines and multi-disciplinary team members.
